Medicare

Well, I'm officially a senior citizen now. I'm covered by Medicare since June 1, 2008.
Here's my story about my doctor problem. Denny and I both had the same doctor. When he became eligible for Medicare, the doctor told him that he doesn't take Medicare so Denny had to find a new doctor. Well, time was approaching for me to be eligible for Medicare. I mentioned it in my doctor's office and was told that he now takes existing patients for Medicare. Wow! I was happy. June 1, 2008 I became eligible for Medicare. I went to the doctor's office on June 2. Guess what! He does take Medicare. There's a However! I would have to pay the doctor, then get reimbursed from Medicare and THEN submit my claim to Blue Cross to pay the rest! No way can I do that. Can you imagine paying for a physical? We're talking $500.00 or more! So I had a dilemma! I don't like the office that Denny goes to because they don't answer the phone but you talk to a computer! And their office is always so full. Well, I went to a lecture at the senior center about something and the doctor was so good. His name is Mark Lee. He went to UCLA and used to be a geriactic physician before he became a family physician. I asked him if he takes new patients. Yes! I asked him if he accepts Medicare patients. Yes! I asked him if I would have to pay up front and be reimbursed. He said No. So I'm going to have him as my physician. I'm glad that problem is solved! So now on to other problems, like gas prices, war, presidential election. Eye-yie-yie!

Sometimes the internet drives me crazy

I had my blog all written and then I got kicked off the internet. It does that once in awhile and it makes me sooooo mad. Anyway, I'm starting again.
My Michigan friends finally have nice weather. It was cold and wet there for awhile. And we were in the 90s. But, I'm not complaining.
My flowers are looking good. I have a lot of new flowers and I'm half way done with the border.
We got bricks to put around our trees in the front yard. Denny even carried some of the bricks from the truck. He starts cardio-therapy next week so maybe that will make him feel better. He feels bad because he can't go to Michigan this summer. Not only will he miss because of his therapy but it would cost us an arm and a leg for gas to get there. And Michigan's gas is higher than ours. Michigan's prices are the highest in the states, after California. I feel bad for people that have to drive a long way to work and only make minimum or close to it!
Denny and Sue brought a trampoline over for Dallas. As soon as they set in down, she ran to it and started to jump on it! I'm sure she's going to be a gymnist or anything that involves jumping. She watched divers on the swim meets on TV today and went wild when they were jumping on the board and then diving off!
She's starting to say a lot of words now. Denny's going to have to watch what he says now!!

Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch

We went to the wildlife ranch yesterday. It was a lot of fun. You get to pet the baby Kangaroos and a monkey sat on my shoulder. It's a great place to take the kids.
And on the way home, you won't believe it but I saw a car like the one I've been talking about. So we turned around and Denny confirmed that it is like the picture of the car that I entered into this blog. Except it was covered with rust. I want to go back sometime and look inside. Funny that I would see one so close to us. One time I was looking for a picture for my sister. It was a picture that my mother had on her wall. Well, after looking for years, I found the picture, bought it and sent it to my sister. Can you believe that after I found that picture, I found around five more? So maybe that's what's going to happen now. I'll find 5 more cars like mine. I can only wish.
It's really hot outside. I pulled weeds this morning before it got hot and I'm so glad I got it done with.

More on My Car

I was worried that I had lost the picture of me and my car but I found it today. It was taken on June 15, 1961. It was the night of our Commencement Exercise for graduation from Union High School. Oh, to go back to those days, just for awhile but not for good.
