Very early this morning I came to a heart-rendering decision. I've been avoiding it but I guess the time just wasn't right. This morning I knew that it was time. O'Ley would never get better and he cried whenever I'd pick him up. In the last couple of days, he ate less and less. Although I loved him and would miss him, I had to do what was best for him. I called the veterinarian's office where his leg was amputated three years ago. They told me to bring him in. The doctor was very nice and we talked awhile. Uness you've had a pet that you really loved, you would not understand the feelings when you have to think of him instead of your feelings. I cried as I watched O'Ley fall asleep. It was peaceful. I'm feeling better now and I know that I made the right decision.
I still have Willow. He is 15 years old and weights over 25 lbs. I think he will live to be around 20 years old. I'll just give him love until the day comes that I have to make another decision. I think that he will be my last pet.

O'Ley

Well, It's been three years since we had to have O'Ley's leg amputated. He had a cancerous lump on his leg that would only grow back if removed. We tried and it grew back. He has two lumps on another leg now. So it's only a matter of time that I'll have him. I really love this cat. He follows me around and loves to snuggle with me when I go to bed at night. I'll miss him. I'm going to try hold on to him until he can't walk good anymore or if he gets sick or has pain. We've had him around 5 years now. I got him at the 'no kill' shelter after my 'tuxedo' cat, Baby, died of cancer. I still have Willow who is now around 15 years old. He's huge and is healthy. I've been avoiding telling anyone about O'Ley because I thought that if I didn't mention it, it would just go away. But I have to face reality. Losing a pet is such a hard thing to go through. Anyone with a pet would understand how hard it is but someone who doesn't love animals wouldn't understand. I think that when we die, we will be reunited with our pets.

Our Family Pets

Here are our pet family pictures. First is our neicecat Trixie Schneider. Second picture is granddog Buster (Bob) Goble. Third picture is granddog CoCo Goble. And last is neicedog (once removed) Nikki. Missing from the pictures is nephewcat Norton, Niececat Minnie and the Randy lizard, name unknown (by me).
My lovely cats

Here are a few pictures of O'Ley and Willow. Willow is the gray cat. When I first got him, he reminded me of a Pussy Willow so I named him Willow. Denny calls him Willy or Mr. Will or Wilson. O'Ley already had his name when I adopted him from Operation Kindness. I liked the name so I kept it for him. He had a cancerous tumor on his leg a couple of years ago. The doctor removed the tumor but it grew back so we had his leg amputated since it was only in his leg. I really love my cats. We had a cat named Baby before I got O'Ley and I was really sad when she died. She was a Tuxedo cat, meaning she was black and white. Funny that those cats always look the same.

Buster and Coco

Buster aka is Denny’s and Sue’s Pug. He’s quite a character. He’ll pretend to fall in the pool if they tell him he can’t go in. He can do a lot of trick including holding a treat on his nose or paw until he’s told he can eat it. When Denny and I go to their house, he’ll run out the door, go right past me and run to Denny. The reason? Denny brings him treats and I don’t. If you ever want your floor really clean, call Buster over. He’s like a miniature vaccum cleaner. He’s a cutie.
Coco is Randy’s and Danielle’s Yorkypoo. He’s a cute little stinker. They brought him here when they came in August. O’Ley chased him around the yard and it was quite funny. I was always afraid of stepping on him.
Oley and Willow

My two cats are O’Ley and Willow. Willow is 16 years old, gray with a white stripe down his tail. He was all gray but one summer within a week’s time, his tail turned white like a skunk! He loves my raspberry iced tea. He goes crazy over watermelon, meowing until he gets some. And he has to have ice cubes in his water and he doesn’t like to eat out of a dish that isn’t full.
O’Ley was adopted after my female cat, Baby, the tuxedo cat died. Willow howled every night so we went to Operation Kindness and adopted O’Ley. He’s 9 years old now. He’s cream color (some think he’s white) and has one brown ear and a brown tail. Unlike Willow, who is long haired, O’Ley has short hair. And he also only has three legs! He had a tumor on his left hind leg. The tumor was removed but it grew back. His leg had to be removed before the cancer spread. He gets along great with three legs. He chased Randy’s dog all around the yard this summer. He eats like a dog, chomps anything down in a few mouthfuls. O’Ley is a real loving cat.
