Denny doesn't have to umpire Saturday so we're going to go to the Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch. We've never been there and it looks like a fun trip. Dallas saw the pictures of the animals and got excited. I think she's going to have a ball!
I'll take plenty of pictures.

Tornados, rainclouds and storms
We had more storm warnings last night (17th). The clouds were beautiful. One thing about Texas is that whether the sky is cloudless and blue or cloudy and gray, it's beautiful. I think Texas has the prettiest sky and I do believe that Texas has the biggest sky. Well, isn't everything bigger in Texas, even the sky? The funny difference that I find in Texas storm warnings and watches from Michigan warnings and watches is that in Michigan, if there is a storm coming, the watches and warnings are flashed across the TV screen. Here, in Texas, the shows are all pre-empted, even if the storm is miles away. We had only weather reports from 6:00 pm until after 10:00 pm. I'm sure glad that Lost is still being repeated or I would have missed the show! We had a good rain but the hail was all southwest of us. They had hail from the size of a pea to the size of a golfball, to a baseball and even a softball. The hail was like a rolling snowball that got bigger and bigger.
Today the sun was shining brightly and you wouldn't know we had a storm last night. I love Texas!
Clouds and tornados
The clouds were beautiful April 17, just before the tornado warning sounded. One thing about Texas that is different than Michigan is the weather updates. In Michigan, we were used to having the watches and warnings flash across your TV screen. Not so in TX. Our local stations pre-empted all the shows from 6:00 pm until after 10:00 pm. Some of it was interesting but a lot was repeated. There was a lot of hail that varied from pea size hail to baseball sized hail, to softball sized hail. The hail was like a rolling snowball, it kept getting bigger and bigger! Fortunately we didn't get damage in Allen like we did with last weeks storms. Some of the cities southwest of us were hit and a lot of windshields were busted. I was getting ready to find a car wash to hide in so my car wouldn't end up looking like a blue golfball. I didn't have to, thank God.
Texas has beautiful skies, whether the sky is open and blue or whether we have storms. Did you know that Texas has the biggest sky? Well, anyway, that's what I think. Everything is bigger in Texas, including the sky. I love Texas.

I dreamed that I died and went to the Antique Mall
I love antique stores!! Denny and I always go to antique stores when we travel. I see things from my past that remind me of my mother and when I was a little kid.
The antique mall in Allen is such a great store. Rebecca, who works there, is so friendly and nice. Today when I was there looking for buttons to sew on my chemo caps we were talking, as usual, as I was checking out. I mentioned that I was looking for buttons that I didn't have to pay a lot for for the caps. (She already knows about our project.) Anyway, she took me to her booth and told me to pick out a bag of buttons for my caps. No charge! How nice is that! The store is such a good place to get something that you've always wanted, just browse around to kill time or get nostalgic for the days gone by.
If you've never gone to an antique store, you're missing something great! Try it and you'll see what I mean. Antique stores are little previews of Heaven.

The Rolling Stones
Sunday, the girls and I went to see the new Rolling Stone movie. It was like being at a Stone concert. I was motivated! I downloaded their songs and I'm going to (privately with no one around)dance like Mick Jagger every day. I'm bound to lose weight. There isn't an ounce of fat on his body. He is the most energetic person I've ever seen and he's 60 years old! While I was watching him run around the stage, I wondered if he has the same problems everyone else his age has, like high cholesterol, diabetes or high blood pressure. I bet he's really healthy from all of the exercise he does. He should have a program on weight loss and exercise. He'd make millions. Not that he'd need the money.
I can see Johnny Depp as the pirate when they'd show Keith Richards. He modeled the pirate after Keith and he sure did a good job. Love that guy! I'm talking about Johnny Depp, not Keith Richards!
The movie was a little too long and we thought that it was going to be more of a documentary but it was mostly their concert. So I can tell people that I went to a Rolling Stone concert. Not live but front row seats!

Lady bugs
I wrote about my purchase of lady bugs a few weeks ago. I bought them because they eat the aphids off rose bushes. There were 2500 bugs in the package. Of course, I don't know how they could have counted 2500 of the little creatures. Anyway, I checked on them every day. I only counted 4 of them the second day. They're all gone now. So I'm now singing "Lady Bug, Lady Bug, fly away home".

Big storms in TX
We had some big storms here Thursday morning. There were 5 tornadoes. I don't know if the damage done in Allen was done by tornadoes or straight line winds. There were trees down, fences down and roofs blown off houses. Areas real close to us were hit but we only had a loss of power for a few hours. I was so worried about my little gardenia tree that I planted. It looked like it was whipping around pretty good but it was still standing in the morning. My yellow rose tree did fine too. It has two beautiful roses on it already. The sun is shining today.
